THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
BAMC Receives New Paramedic Intercept Vehicle
Bay Area Medical Center announces the arrival of a new Paramedic intercept vehicle. BAMC provides paramedic-level 9-1-1 ambulance service partnership with the volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad to Marinette, Peshtigo, and Menominee as well as the surrounding towns. The service also works closely with the City of Marinette Fire Department when responding in Marinette.
BAMC's EMT services responds to neighboring communities as far as Silver Cliff when assistance is called upon with the Paramedic intercept vehicle. The vehicle carries almost everything a regular ambulance would be able to provide such as equipment and medicine. The 2017 For Explorer is replacing and upgrading from an 2008 Ford Taurus for Bay Area Medical Center.
"This is a great addition to our department and hospital to help us provide the best care effectively and efficiently when an emergency arises" states Mike Orlando, Paramedic at BAMC.
When arriving on scene with the intercept vehicle, BAMC paramedics intercept and board the EMT ambulance as the patient is being transferred to the hospital. The two services work together to provide advanced pre-hospital care to the patient as the transfer continues. This allows many of the critical services from the emergency department to be extended to the patient in the field before they arrive to the hospital where their care continues.
