CBA Is Working On Event Plans
A Crivitz Business Association (CBA) meeting that had been scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 has been rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Crivitz Village Hall.
Agenda for the meeting includes setting a date for the annual CBA/Cra Banquet, discussion on the Tourist Information booth, treasurer's reports, Community Education programs and promotion of the website for the Crivitz Calendar of Events.
Plans for pending events occupied much of the discussion at the Crivitz Business Association meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 21 in the Crivitz Village Hall.
Members were reminded of the annual Christmas Tree Bonfire and Ice Skating Party on the grounds of the Crivitz Fire Station from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 21 hosted by Crivitz Fire Department and Crivitz Rescue Squad. Hot chocolate and other goodies will be provided along with a toasty bonfire expertly tended by Fire Department personnel. This is a free event open to the general public. A parent or other responsible party must accompany young children.
Residents may dispose of Christmas trees at the site anytime before the event. Firefighters are available to pick up trees from those unable to bring them to the site by calling Rudi Jensen at (715)927-2359 to make arrangements.
The High Falls Radar Run sponsored by the Twin Bridge Water Ski Team and The Iron Snow Shoe Snowmobile Association is also slated for Saturday, Jan. 21. Headquarters is off Boat Landing 3 Road at the Town of Stephenson Park 12 miles northwest of Crivitz.
St. Mary's Church is having a Valentines Dance on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Plans are being made for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, which is set for Saturday, April 15.
Members present included Ashley Swick Scriven of Pioneer Pottery, Cecelia Kostreva of St. Mary's Church, Sally Witt of Witt's Piggly Wiggly, Marge Banaszak of the Food pantry, Sheri Kort of Bellin Health, Nathaniel Blackowske of Printmaster Printing, and Jessica Crowley of Northwoods Apostolic Church.
Community Education Director Jolene Huc reminded everyone that the community education program now sponsors Open Community Bowling, bowling for the kids, tumbling, violin lessons and more.
Date for the annual Crivitz Recreation Association/ Crivitz Business Association (CRA/CBA) banquet will be set at the next meeting.
Discussion at the meeting included work to be done on the Calendar of Events and promotion of the calendar on the web site, details for the Christmas sleigh ride events and prize drawings, payment of bills, and financial reports.
