Frances M. (Jacobson) Reed, 90, of Pembine, passed away Monday, March 6 at Dickinson Hospital.
Born July 29, 1926 in Kingsford, to the late Hugo and Ina Jacobson, she married James Reed on Oct. 9, 1948 and they celebrated 67 years together before he passed on April 26, 2016.
A foster parent to many children over the years, she enjoyed playing scrabble, gardening, reading and participating in all church activities she could, but mostly loved time with family.
She is survived by six children, Robert (Kathy) Reed, Barbara (Neal) Borkenhagen, Judy (Jon) Schnacky, Dale (Linda) Jaeger, Shawn (Rene) Perrin, and Joan (Tom) Reed; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Alice Mans and Esther Cram.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; two brothers, John and Ralph and a sister, Ruth.
Family and friends may call at Grace Lutheran Church in Pembine on Monday, March 13 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Jeremy Nausin will officiate and interment will be in Pembine Cemetery. Donations can be made to Grace Lutheran Church or The Salvation Army. Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting the family with arrangements.
