THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Lorin "Pete" Philipps, 84, of Crivitz, formerly of Wausaukee, passed away Friday, March 3 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay.
Born May 6, 1932 in Two Rivers, to the late John and Lucia (Rozmarynoski) Philipps, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Ann Pekulik on May 21, 1960 and they moved to the Town of Wagner before residing in Wausaukee. He worked at Smith's Market for 23 years, volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul and was a member of the American Legion Post of Wausaukee and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two daughters, Lori (Gregory) Parks of Green Bay and Julie (Wayne) Abler of Winneconne; three sons, Timothy (Julie) Philipps of Green Bay, Jerrold "Omar" (Annie) Philipps of Wausaukee and John Butler of Wisconsin Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty (Richard) Gleichner.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann on Jan. 14, 2015 and a brother, Gilbert.
Visitation will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Amberg on Saturday, March 11 from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Spring. Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting the family with arrangements.
