Joan M. (Biehl) Bruce, 75, of Marinette, passed away Monday, March 13 at Sun Valley in Marinette.
Born June 6, 1941 in Marinette, to William and Melva (Leslie) Biehl, she graduated from Marinette High School and then worked at Emerson Electric. After retiring from Emerson she worked at Wal-Mart. She married Walfred "Bud" Bruce, on Oct. 6, 1980 at Porterfield Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death in 2005. A few years after his death, she retired from Wal-Mart.
She enjoyed baking and taking long walks. She was a caring, thoughtful person and will continue on after her passing, donating her body for medical research of Alzheimer's disease.
She is survived by two children, Cindy (Mike Truitt) Baumler and Chris (Sheila) Boettcher; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Biehl and a twin sister, Jane Carlson.
Friends can call at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Thursday, March 16 from noon until time of a Celebration of LIfe at 1 p.m. Pastor Jimmy McDonald will officiate with entombment at the Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette. Marlene Ann (Halada) Carmitchell, 82, of Lakewood, passed away Thursday, March 9 at Alpha Senior Concepts Assisted Living Facility in Suamico.
Born Jan. 16, 1935 in Tipler, to the late John "Jack" and Grace (LaBine) Halada, she graduated from Laona High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Carroll University.
A member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Long Lake, she was a teacher and enjoyed camping, fishing, wood carving and traveling.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Carmitchell of Green Bay; two sisters, Geraldine (Wayne) Pagel of Green Bay and JoAnn (Dan) Hannigan of Menominee, Mi.; two brothers, John (Cyndy) Halada and Larry (Linda) Halada, both of Long Lake; many nieces; nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Halada and Jacqueline "Jackie" Halada and a brother, Alan Halada.
Visitation was held at St. Norbert's Catholic Church of Long Lake on Wednesday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon with Fr. Felix Penetante officiating. Interment will be in Long Lake Cemetery in Spring.
