THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Nancy L. (Delano) Bloom, 81, of New London, Oh., formerly of Brookside and Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28 with family by her side, after a 11 year battle with cancer.
Born July 16, 1935, to Thomas and Lydia Delano, she graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1953 and married Lewellen "Bud" Bloom at Fort Carson, Co. in 1954. They were married for 39 years before his passing in 1993.
A stay at home mother until 1988, she spent many hours taking care of the Bloom Farm where she enjoyed her family and living life. She then worked in the cafeteria at NWTC.
She is survived by two children, Vickie (Neil) Winslow of New London, Oh. and Steve (Sue) Bloom of Green Bay; five granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Delano of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Shirley (Bill) Delano and Laverne Ristow; a brother-in-law, Dave (Peggy) Regal; many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewellen; five brothers and four sisters.
The family greeted friends on Monday, March 13 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Green Bay from 3 p.m. until time of a service at 5 p.m. A memorial gift will be given in her name to the American Cancer Society and Bay Area Humane Society.
