Gene Allan Boyd, 56, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, March 30 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Aug. 21, 1960 in Minnesota, to Harold and Mildred (Peterson) Boyd, he grew up in Minnesota and graduated from South St. Paul Senior High School. He later moved to Oconto and lived with his aunt and uncle. He earned a degree from NWTC in Marinette, and on Dec. 21, 1984 married Connie Peterson. He worked at Balsa USA as a band saw operator.
A loving father and grandfather, he spent a lot of time with his granddaughter and his dogs.
He is survived by his children, Steven Boyd and Nicole (Nathan Sjoholm); a granddaughter; former wife, Connie Boyd; his mother, Mildred; a sister, Gale; special aunt and uncle, Glennis and Leroy Steffenhagen; aunts; uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amber Boyd and his father, Harold.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home on Monday, April 3 from 4 p.m. until time of a sharing of memories at 8 p.m. Burial was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
