Mark J. Engel, 63, of Marinette passed away Wednesday March 29 at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay.
Born March 23, 1954 in Marinette, to the late Ervin and Alyce (Knuth) Engel, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1972. He worked as an auto mechanic in San Diego, Seattle and then returned to the area and worked at NKS Automotive until retiring last year.
He enjoyed playing the pipe organ at church, cooking and camping.
He is survived by a sister, Janice (Steve) Wilke of Marinette; a niece, Heather (Tim) Harris and a nephew, Matthew Wilke (fiancé Haley Renne).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bruce and a special friend, Scott Murnin.
Visitation was held at First Presbyterian Church in Menominee on Monday, April 3 from 5 p.m. until time of funeral services at 6 p.m. Pastor Jon Nelson officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menomonee. Memorials can be made to the Menominee Animal Shelter, N184 Haggerson Ct., Menominee, MI 49858. Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family.
