Florence L. (Rusch) Winkler
Florence L. (Rusch) Winkler, 92, of Underhill, passed away Thursday evening, March 30 at Woodlands of Suring.
Born June 13, 1924 at home in the Town of Maple Valley, to Otto and Lizzie (Luebke) Rusch, she attended the Four-Town Schoolhouse. She married Art Winkler on Dec. 4, 1943 and they raised a daughter and two sons.
She worked at Friday Canning Company for many years before retiring. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Gillett, she enjoyed bus tours with her husband in earlier years.
She is survived by three children, Cheryl (Gilman) Smoot of Minneapolis, Dale Winkler of Mountain and Miles (Donna) Winkler of Gillett; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mildred Winkler of Suring; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Art and six siblings, Norman, Walter, Arlyle, Olivia, Harold and Eugene.
Friends and relatives can call at Legacy Funeral Chapel in Gillett on Wednesday, April 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett on Thursday, April 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Kent Wallace will officiate with interment at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
