Myron J. Kosmal
Myron J. Kosmal, 78, of Shawano, passed away Friday morning, March 31 at Kindred Hearts in Shawano due to Alzheimer's Disease.
Born April 5, 1938 in Lena, to the late Martin and Evelyn (Kieffer) Kosmal, he attended Lena High School and worked in the retail business. On July 26, 1958 he married the former Barbara J. Van Hecke at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oconto.
The couple lived in Oconto, before moving to Shawano where he worked at the Gamble Store and then at Shawano Papers until retiring in 2005. After retirement, he cared for his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara, of Shawano; two children, Marsha Kosmal of Cape Coral, Fla. and Bradley Kosmal of Green Bay; two grandchildren; four brothers, Maynard (Laurel) Kosmal, Mark (Mary Jane) Kosmal, Marvin Kosmal and Walter (Darlene) Kosmal; his "second family", the Van Heckes'; three sisters-in-law, Judy Saunders, Mary (Terry) Hanes and Kathy (Richard) Olm; five brothers-in-law, Jim (Kathy) Van Hecke, Michael (Susan) Van Hecke, Steve (Jeanette) Van Hecke, Joe (Vicki) Van Hecke and David (Kay) Van Hecke; other relatives; nieces; nephews and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Woody and Marge Van Hecke.
Per his wishes, no visitation will be held, with private family services planned at a later date. Any memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer's Association in his name. Mickelson Funeral and Cremation Service of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements.
