THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Darlene (Belling) Wright, 86, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, May 3.
Born May 20, 1930 in Marinette, to Hilbert and Jenny Belling, she
lived in the twin cities most of her life and graduated from Marinette High School. She married Emil Wright on June 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1997.
She owned and managed Wright's Motel and was a floor manager at the former Tempo Store in Menominee for many years. She enjoyed the many people she met at the motel and Tempo. She also enjoyed doing crafts, but mostly her family was her greatest joy.
She is survived by a son, Raymond (Patty Jo) of Menominee; a granddaughter; two grandchildren; a grandson; boys, Marcus, Michael and Madden of Howard; two sisters, Geraldine (Fred) Ott of Peshtigo and Donna (Bradley) Martin of Porterfield; a brother, Donald (Susan) Belling of Marinette; many nieces; nephews and friends and two special friends, Joan Grun of Manitowoc and Pat LaCanne of Menominee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; a brother, Raymond, of Marinette; and a sister, Wanda, of Eugene, Or.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Saturday, May 6 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
