THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Rodger Phillips, 76, of Niagara, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Dickinson County Hospital.
Born July 24, 1940 in Niagara, to the late Orville and Violet (Chaltry) Phillips, his life was spent on the family hobby farm, where he raised Black Angus and was proud to carry on the tradition of the family farm. He also worked as a paper maker for over 30 years at Niagara Paper Mill, where he served two terms as president of the Union.
He is survived by two children, Lori (Craig) Frendewey and Craig Phillips; three grandchildren and siblings, Connie Dennis, Donna Kentgen and Reginald (Sally) Phillips.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Roy, Roland and Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday May 17 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara. Fr. Matt Settle officiated with interment in Niagara Cemetery. Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee assisted the family with arrangements.
