Sportsman's Club Summer Trap Results
In the third week of summer league, all teams and shooters should be current. In matches from Week #1 Heritage Inn edged Winsert 122-121, American Legion defeated Kakuk's 120-119, Van's IGA lost to the "Bye" score 119-118, Roadhouse defeated Lithocrafters Printing in a 6th-man tiebreak 120/144-120/143, The Unknowns edged Barkers in another 6th-man tiebreak 118/141-118/140, and Sharp Shooters outshot Menza & Zak in a third 6th-man tiebreak 120/144-120/143.
In scheduled team match-ups from Week #2, Van's IGA defeated Roadhouse 119-112, Winsert beat Lithocrafters 120-117, Barkers outshot Heritage Inn 120-115, Menza & Zak edged The Unknowns 119-118, Kakuk's beat Sharp Shooters 123-117, and American Legion lost to the "Bye" score 118-116.
Week #3 saw Van's IGA edge Winsert 121-120, Barkers defeated Lithocrafters in a 6th-man tiebreak 120/142-120/141, Heritage Inn slipped past Menza & Zak 117-116, Kakuk's defeated The Unknowns in another 6th-man tiebreak 121/145-121/144, Sharp Shooters defeated American Legion Post #146 120-117, and the "Bye " score beat Roadhouse 118-117.
High individual shooters during the third week of Summer League action were: Tom Volk (75 straight, 24); Tony Camps (25, 23); Mac McAllister and Dan Bayee (25); Roger Davis and Ken Kline (24, 24); Dave Brower (24, 23, 23); Steve Kakuk III, Al Nerat and Colton Monroe (24, 23); Mike Waugus, Aaron Nolde, Don Kakuk, Jeff Chevalier and Parker Krause (24); Mike Carroll, Carl Muffler, Gary Smith, Bob Maloney, Kevin Wesolowski, Lindsay Nolde, Bob Brock and Mike Gandt (23).
Tom Volk leads Men's High Gun with a 74 total and 24.67 average, followed by Al Nerat and Marv Fernstrum (72 and 24.00), Mike Waugus (71 and 23.67), Dave Brower, Dave Seymour, Mac McAllister and Scott Barnes (70 and 23.33).
Libby Theuerkauf and Lindsay Nolde are tied for Women's High Gun with totals of 69 and 23.00 averages, followed by Heather Juckem (64 and 21.33), Mary Chevalier (58 and 19.33) and Julianne LaCanne (57 and 19.00).
High Squad for the third week was shot on Tuesday morning by Ron Nolde (19), Dave Brower (24), Tom Sadowske (19), Roger Davis (24) and Aaron Nolde (24) for a squad total of 110. This was repeated on Tuesday evening by Bob Brock (23), Loren Rose (19), Dan Bayee (21), Gary Smith (23) and Steve Kakuk III (24) for another squad total of 110.
Team standings after 3 weeks are: Barker's, Heritage Inn, Kakuk's, Sharp Shooters, and Van's IGA, all 2-1-0, Am. Legion Post #146, Menza & Zak, Roadhouse, The Unknowns, and Winsert, all 1-2-0, and Lithocrafter's Printing 0-3-0.
Both league and open shooting is available on Tuesday mornings from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. as well as Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5 to 9 p.m. New shooters and teams are still being accepted. Team registration sheets are available at the clubhouse. Those who did not shoot in the league last year but would like to do so this year, put names on the "Available Shooter" list, as teams will be looking for replacement shooters as the summer goes on.
The trap range is open to all area shotgunners, whether to shoot in the league or only an occasional night just for fun. To join in the fun just come out to the club on any Tuesday morning or Tuesday and Thursday evening. We are located at N3675 County Road 577, about 10 miles north of Menominee.
