THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Issue Date: May 31, 2017
Robert (Bobby) Race, 94, of Peshtigo, passed away Nov. 14, 2016 surrounded by the staff at the Rem House on Dolan Avenue.
Born and raised in the country, he had a love for horses. Later in life he lived at the Landmark for several years where he made a lot of friends, especially the students going back and forth to school. He never went anywhere that someone didn't know him. He loved riding his three wheel bike, which he thought could "turn on a dime", playing his harmonica and watching Westerns on his TV.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Flora; six sisters, Florence Loucks, Eva Bowman, Ellen Utter, Bernice Loomis, Evelyn Michalski and Irene Walters; four brothers, Howard, Herbert, George and William and their spouses and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 8 at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m., with burial in Harmony Cemetery.
