Dolores K. Morstad
Dolores "Lorry" K. (Peterson) Morstad, 87, of Niagara, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.
Born June 25, 1929 in Crystal Falls, Mi., to the late Hadar and Agnes (RonBack) Peterson, after graduation, she worked at the Iron County Courthouse and later at Wilding Picture Productions in Chicago, Ill. She was married to Robert E. Morstad for 63 years and they had seven children.
Actively involved in the Church and community, she served on the Board, Eve Circle and taught Sunday School and in 1971 became the second woman elected to the Niagara School Board.
A devoted wife, they shared a love of music, reading, dancing and in retirement, enjoyed traveling through Canada, Alaska and annual trips to Florida. The highlight wasa trip to Sweden to visit relatives.
She was committed to her faith and family, had a sense of humor, was a compassionate woman and a great listener to friends and relatives, but mostly loved watching her children and grandchildren's activities throughout the years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; seven children, Dean (Betty) Morstad, Lynn (Mike) Crosby, Dawn (Bob) Simkovski, Robin (Dan) Hagar, Jamie (Scott) Pratt, Boyd (Vicki) Morstad and Diane (Jay) Keeley; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and two brothers, Donald (Bev) Peterson and Harry Peterson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nathalie and Elaine (Edward) O'Million; a brother, Robert (Patricia) Peterson and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Peterson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18 at Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Lindgren will officiate and burial will take place in Niagara Cemetery.
