Virginia R. (Kleinke) Wehrman, 87, of Marinette, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Luther Home.
Born Oct. 9, 1929 in Menominee, Mi., to Arthur and Gertrude (Hoefgen) Kleinke, she married Ralph J. Wehrman on June 9, 1969 and they lived in Vancouver, Wa. for many years.
She received a master's degree from the University of Portland and was a teacher in Evergreen School District of Vancouver until retiring in 1982. She was honored as the Washington State Teacher of the Year for 1980-1981.
They moved to the Marinette area in 1994, where she was a member of Holy Family Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Arthur Kleinke of Menominee and Robert Kleinke of Oshkosh; two sisters, Annette (Gerald) Behrendt of Marinette and Trudy (Robert) Gorecki of Chicago, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kleinke and many nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; two brothers, Dennis and Richard Kleinke; two sisters, Doris (Thor) Magnuson and Rosemary (Frank) Paque; a sister-in-law, Joyce Kleinke; a niece, Susan Behrendt and a special friend, Nancy Cooney.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 at Holy Family Parish Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St. by Rev. Celestine Byekwaso. Inurnment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
