PTSD Run for Recovery June 24

Crivitz"There is still time to sign up for the Run for Recovery 5K Run/1 Mile walk sponsored by Crivitz American Legion Post #413 on Saturday, June 24 at the John Shaffer Pavilion in Veterans Park in Crivitz. Register at the park the day of the event.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of what post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is, how it effects veterans and their families, and to show honor and support to all veterans. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Journey Together Service Dogs from Oshkosh and Moonlit Meadows Performance Horses from Denmark. Both organizations sponsor programs that help treat veterans affected by PTSD.
The line up is at 9 AM with the run/walk kicking off at 9:30 AM. Registration fees are $15 for veterans, $20 for non-veterans, and $10 for children 8-17 years of age. Children under the age of 8 may participate for free.
The Legion will sell food and beverages at the pavilion. Also in attendance will be Tom Doyle, Marinette County Veteran's Service Officer, representatives from the Green Bay VA Center Outreach office, and members of the Army National Guard from Marinette with an equipment display.
