SC Auxiliary Discusses Aug. 12 Picnic, Parade
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary met on Monday, June 12 at 9 AM in the Town Hall. President Dee Farley called the meeting to order. After reports of secretarys, treasurers and standing committee, the 2017 High School Scholarship recipients were announced. They are Logan VanArk, Wesley Schaal and Jason Jarowski.
Picnic Committee chairpersons reported progress with plans for the 40th annual Parade and Picnic to be held on Aug. 12. A goal of $20,000 on the 40th anniversary has been set. The money is used to support the Silver Cliff Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Donations of baked goods, crafts, etc. by community residents are welcome for the Country Store. There will be food, including chicken booyah and corn on the cob, refreshments, music, raffles, paddle wheel, new adult and children's games as well as a demonstration by the Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
Community residents who wish to participate in the parade at 10 AM, which precedes the opening of the picnic which starts at 11 AM can contact Parade Marshal Paul Farley at 715-757-3922.
The next meeting is July10 in the Town Hall. All women, full and part time. residents of the Silver Cliff area, are invited to attend the meetings and encouraged to join the Auxiliary.
