Athelstane/SC Aux. Post 66 Memorial Picnic a Success
Athelstane--The Athelstane/Silver Cliff American Legion Auxiliary Unit 66 met at 10 AM on Saturday, June 24 at the Silver Cliff Memorial Park. The meeting was called to order by President Dee Farley with guest Ronnie Peterson. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble were recited and the treasurer's report was read and filed for audit.
The Audit Review Committee members Mary Deprey and Jan Meyer reported books were found to be in order. The current paid 2017 membership numbers 68. New members are Carrie Willems and Gracie Vander Zanden.
The Memorial Day Picnic was very successful. A full report will be available at the August meeting. On July 12, Post 66 will have an official dedication for the new building at the Silver Cliff Memorial Park. Contact Sharon Schneeberg for details.
The Unit 66 Volunteers at the Iron Mountain Facility will host the "Christmas In July" on July 19 at 1 PM. Each resident will receive a neck scarf.
