Nancy J. Yeazel, 78, of Peshtigo, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 with family by her side.
Born March 1, 1939 at home in Porterfield during a snowstorm, to Herbert and Lenore (Grady) Messenger, the day she was born her sister took the horse and sleigh to get Dr. KennethPinegar on the crossroads and Doc named her his "Snow baby". She graduated from Marinette High School in 1957, attended college in Minneapolis for two years and worked at Honeywell.
She returned to Peshtigo to work at Badger Paper Mills and married Glenn Otis Yeazel on Feb. 6, 1960 at Christ Lutheran Church. She left BPM to raise a family but returned to work at Thompson Boats, Coleman Products and retired after 13 years at Emerson Electric in Menominee Mi.
A Girl Scout leader and Den mother, she enjoyed snowmobiling, reading, knitting, crocheting and four wheeling near their cabin in Silver Cliff.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn; a daughter, Toni ( Nancy Ahrens) Pierce; two granddaughters and a great-grandson, all of Manitowoc; a sister, Marion Messenger of Peshtigo; a brother-in-law, Roy Yeazel of Madison and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jay Yeazel; a son-in-law, Kevin Pierce; five sisters; three brothers; three sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-laws.
Per her wishes no services were held and cremation has taken place. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
