THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Crivitz Rescue 137 Mile Benefit Motorcycle Ride
Crivitz Rescue Squad members held their 8th annual Ride for Rescue July 29.
The 137 mile motorcycle ride was a squad benefit. Prior to the bikes hitting the trail, AEMT Jared Warren offered a short first aid demonstration. Afterwards, everyone saddled up and headed out with a roar. The procession was led by John and Dawn Chaikowski and Axel Rodriguez.
The ride has been sponsored by Dan & Tim's Riverside and JC PowerSports since its beginning. Riverside owners, Dan Piasecki and Tim Bublitz, have allowed the squad to have the event start and end at their establishment, assisted with advertising posters and offered a very good meal when all the bikers returned from their journey. JC PowerSports owner, John Chaikowski, helped plan the route with CRS EMT Axel Rodriguez. They plotted the course, mapped it and even went out the night before to sweep any bad areas to help prevent any injuries. In addition JC PowerSports donated very nice rider's clothing and gift certificates to the raffle buckets that were also used for raising money.
Many businesses donated merchandise for raffles and some even gave cash donations. These donations really helped elevate the amount of money raised. All monies made will be used to update medical equipment.
Over the years these riders have helped purchase two new defibrillators, two new stretchers and an automated CPR device.
The ride made three stops on their route and were well treated wonderfully at each. Thanked were Campy Shakey Lakes Saloon, Rapids Resort and Schoolhouse Bar for the hospitality.
