Italian Fest at Iron Mountain Aug. 12
The 11th annual Italian Fest will take place in downtown Iron Mountain Saturday, Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the city parking lot at the intersection of East A Street and Iron Mountain Street. There will be live music by a Frank Sinatra Impersonator, named Matt Walch, and opera from Anastasia Lee, The Cadillacs and JAB who specializes in hits from then and now.
New this year is the Noodle Kiss. At 7:10 p.m. organizers will have three couples compete for the best "lady and the tramp noodle kiss" for ages 18 and older. " Winners will be selected by the crowd's round of applause. In addition, Frame Up & Art Supplies will host a wine bottle art workshop at 1 p.m., where an instructor will provide attendants with all the materials and instruction to create a piece of custom artwork for $15.
Nonna's Secret Sauce will return, where amateur chefs compete an champion of "Nonna's Secret Sauce." In addition, the Spaghetti Dinner Toss and the ever popular Grape Stomp sponsored by Super One are back.
Families can count on a free children's area sponsored by Dickinson County Healthcare System. This includes a magic show performed by Mischeif and Magic of Green Bay at 2 p.m. as well as balloon animals and face painting. ACA bounce houses will also be onsite weather permitting. Other event sponsors include the Downtown Development Authority, River Valley Bank, Tourism Association of Dickinson County, MJ Electric, Classic Auto and Collision, Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Federal Credit Union, and 41 Lumber.
