Jeanette M. (Johnson) Newling, 93, of Pembine, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at her home.
Born Jan. 10, 1924, in Wyandotte, Mi., to the late Ralph and Inez (LaFeve) Johnson, she grew up there where she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She married Roy J. Newling, Sr. on Oct. 11, 1952 in Indiana.
They lived in Wyandotte for a short time before moving to South Gate, Mi. where she worked as a head teller at Wyandotte Savings Bank for many years until retiring.
They started spending time in Pembine in 1986 and moved there full time in 1991. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, needlepoint and the outdoors and in her younger years, played baseball.
Survivors include a son, Roy J. (Rebekah) Newling, Jr., Pembine; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family graveside services will be held at Pembine Cemetery. Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel is assisting the family.
