Harold R. Hartwell, 93, of Green Bay, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017.
Born Nov. 19, 1923, in Detroit, Mi., he was raised by Roland and Nellie Hartwell. On July 13, 1943, he married Carole Fiedler at Annunciation Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1996. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.
He was self-employed as an electrical contractor and was a member of Green Bay Kiwanis and Oneida Country Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, billiards, singing and playing the organ.
He is survived by seven children, Steve (Sharon) Hartwell, Dale (Maxine) Hartwell, Sue (Doug) Barsness, Rick (Deborah) Hartwell, Bryan (Darlene) Hartwell, Paula Hartwell and Craig (Brenda) Hartwell; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carole and a son-in-law, Greg Barsness.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay on Thursday, Aug. 10 from 4 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 7 p.m., with Sister Dorothy Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Athelstane
