Jeanette M. (Johnson) Newling, 93, of Pembine, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at her home.
Born Jan. 10, 1924, in Wyandotte, Mi., to the late Ralph and Inez (LaFeve) Johnson, she grew up in Wyandotte and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte. She married Roy J. Newling Sr. in Indiana on Oct. 11, 1952 and they lived in Wyandotte for a short time before moving to South Gate, Mi.
She worked as a head teller at the Wyandotte Savings Bank for many years until retiring. The couple started spending time in Pembine in 1986 and moved there permanently in 1991.
She enjoyed playing baseball at a younger age, hunting, fishing, sewing, needlepoint and the outdoors.
Survivors include a son, Roy J. (Rebekah) Newling Jr., Pembine; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Private family graveside services will be held at Pembine Cemetery. Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel is assisting the family.
