Nine Members at Crivitz Auxiliary Meet
Crivitz-The Crivitz American Legion Auxiliary meeting on Aug. 21 was called to order by President Marian Wankowski. Chaplain Helen Franzen led in prayer and a minute of silence was observed for deceased members. "God Bless America" was sung followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, Preamble to the Constitution and Mission Statement. Nine members attended. Nora Swanson gave the treasurer's report. General fund was $1,948.64, poppy fund $3,694.63, petty cash $2.42 and bakeless bake sale $755.
Wankowski read minutes which were approved and reported members can pay dues on the phone by calling 1-317-569-4536 Monday thru Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm with debit or credit card. They can pay dues on line at WWW.ALAforV.org then go to member only tab and create a logon ID. Members need their own ID. Dues can also be sent to Nora Swanson. Wankowski also talked about why there are 13 folds in the flag at a funeral. The Legion has a radio show every Wednesday at 8 am on CBC Radio.
A thank you was received for the baby layette donation. A total of 400 members died last year. Wankowski also talked about the M. Louise Wilson education fund.
If anyone wants to order a Centennial T-Shirts 1919-2019 the cost is $12. A new poppy fund suggestion sheet will be discussed at the September meeting.
