Patricia (Pelkey) Brethouwer, 79, formerly of Pound, passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017 at Oak Tree Manor Assisted Living facility in Armory, MS
Born June 3, 1938, in Marinette, to the late Ralph and Myra (O'Rourke) Pelkey, she graduated from Coleman High School and went into the medical profession.
She married Lloyd L. Brethouwer from St. Francis, KS in 1960 and they moved to Pembine to raise a family and manage the Grand Motel. They later moved to Albuquerque, NM and were divorced in 1994.
An active member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and the Pembine High School Booster Club, she also started an antique business in Albuquerque called 'Patty's Place in Time'.
She enjoyed going to estate sales, collecting antiques, watching Packer games and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Timothy Buteau from Placitas, NM; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Seitz from Columbus, MS; a great-grandson, Oliver Seitz also from Columbus MS; a sister and brother-in-law, Miora and Duane Krzewina of De Pere; a brother, Ralph Pelkey of Janesville and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Brethouwer; a grandson, Elijah Edaburn; a brother, Peter Pelkey and a sister, Sue Carney.
A Mass was held at Saint Anne Catholic Church in Coleman on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at Kelly Lakeside Restaurant in Suring.
