THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Marie (Godwin) Laduron, 84, of Wallace, Mi., passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Menominee, Mi.
Born Nov. 17, 1932 in Derby, Ks., to Leslie and Ina (Somers) Godwin, she married Wesley LaDuron on Aug. 25, 1951 in Iron Mountain, Mi.
A member of Bethel Mission Covenant Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, she was a foster grandparent for 11 years at Mellen and Stephenson Elementary Schools, a 4-H leader in Milwaukee for 19 years, worked in area restaurants and was a well-known cook.
Survivors include six children, Janette (Gary) Haber, Kathy (Todd) Crabtree, Barbara (Willie) Price, Ellen (Tim) Laur, Mark (Tammy) LaDuron and Douglas (Denice) LaDuron and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wes; a son, Allen; a granddaughter, Christine and eight brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends at Bethel Mission Covenant Church in Wallace, Mi. on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 from 2 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 3 p.m., with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woods National Cemetery alongside her husband. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements.
