Raymond H. Weigelt
Raymond H. Weigelt, 89, of Oconto, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at Woodlands Nursing Home in Oconto.
Born Nov. 11, 1927 in Oconto, to the late Edgar and Hattie (Peterman) Weigelt, he attended Oconto High School until 1946 when he served in the United States Army as a clerk. After his discharge, he met the love of his life, the late Jane Wenzel and they married June 30, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oconto. They were together for 61 years until her passing in 2013. He worked at Elliott Glove Company for over 42 years until retiring.
He enjoyed cutting wood, rooting for the Packers, listening to polka music, gardening, quiet time by himself, time family and watching anything grow, especially Begonia flowers.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandy Cain, Oconto and Nancy (Clyde) Rasmussen, Green Bay; a grandson; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren seven; a brother, Harold Weigelt; a sister, Carol Sagen and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Weigelt; a sister, Pearl LaMountain and a son-in-law, James Cain.
Visitation will be held at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oconto on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. immediately followed by inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto with Military Honors rendered.
