Erva J. (Bell) Wessel, 99, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 at Sun Valley Homes in Marinette.
Born April 14, 1918 in Lisbon, to the late Otto and Adeline (Schulz) Bell, she married Ervin Wessel in Lisbon on July 8, 1939 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2005. She farmed for 40 years and sold eggs in Milwaukee for 33 years.
A member of Stephenson United Methodist Church, she was a 4-H Leader, worked as a janitor and cook at the Public School and Social Services in Waukesha County and managed a food Co-Op. In later years she cared for her husband until he passed in 2005.
She is survived by a nephew; grand-nieces; grand-nephews; great-grand-nieces; great-grand-nephews; great-great-grand-nieces and great-great grand nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at Stephenson United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 from 2 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Jim Mathews and Rev. Fritz Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery in Sussex. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements.
