Marilyn D. (McMahon) Moreau, 82, of Niagara, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 at Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, Mi.
Born Aug. 10, 1935 in Kingsford, Mi., to the late Ralph and Dorothy (Pelot) McMahon, she grew up there and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1952. She lived and worked in the area all her life.
She married James Moreau on April 28, 1962 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara and worked for the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Federal Credit Union as manager for 13 years, retiring in 1969 when she stayed home to raise her family. In 1979, she went to work for Niagara Paper Mill where she processed payroll for 20 years.
An active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, she taught CCD, was a member of St. Anthony's Council of Catholic Women and spent her life dedicated to church and helping and giving back to St. Anthony's.
She enjoyed watching and listening to sports games, Packers and Brewers and shared many weekends with friends and family on gambling buses, made pasties for others, loved her family and time with them and knew all of her extended families birthdays by heart.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James; two sons, James (Cory) Moreau and Joseph (Julie) Moreau, both of Beaver Dam; five grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Wales and Kathy (Roger) Lindholm; two brothers, Dan (Anna) McMahon and Dave (Mary) McMahon; a brother-in-law, John Givogre and a good friend, Gina Sparapani, of Italy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doreen Givogre and a brother-in-law, Tracey Wales.
Visitation was held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara on Saturday, Sept. 2 from 9:30 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle officiated with burial in Niagara Cemetery. Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
