Jane I. (Kummerow) Prim, 93, of Peshtigo, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at Rennes Health Care Center-East.
Born April 10, 1924, to the late Milton and Helen (Doll) Kummerow in Chicago, Ill., she married Otto Prim on Nov. 29, 1944, in Oakland, Ca. and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2012.
She was a Red Cross volunteer and worked as an assistant librarian at the Kenton School in Skokie, Ill., was secretary for campus ministries at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. and secretary to the Business Manager at the Lake Zurick School District in Illinois. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Skokie, Ill., she was a Sunday school teacher and deaconess.
In 1986, they moved to Sebring, Fla. where she was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Avon Park, Fla. In 2004, they moved to Marinette and she enjoyed time with family and talking politics.
She is survived by a daughter, Jan (Marv) Wiesneth of Porterfield; three sons, Gary (Hillary) Prim of Spearfish, S.D., John (Judy) of Antigua, Guatemala and William Prim of Cary, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Harriet Kummerow of Barrington, Ill. and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Otto, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Sass and a brother, Glenn Kummerow.
Private family services will be held at Union Grove Veteran's Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
