Betty H. (Edginton) Miller, 94, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at Sun Valley Homes in Marinette.
Born the evening of Jan. 5, 1923 at a farmhouse in Crestline, Oh., to British Immigrants James and Eliza Edginton, she moved to Ecorse, Mi. as a child and graduated from River Rouge High School. The family moved to Durand, Mi. where she met and married Harold D. Miller, a farmer, in 1947.
She worked at General Telephone for many years and provided 24 hour care for her invalid mother for a few years. She later worked at Fairway Discount Drug in Durand for 10 years until retiring.
She moved to Menominee in 1989 and became a Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer at Bay Area Medical Center Gift Shop, Coffee Shop and sewing group, logging 3500 hours. A member of Holy Spirit Church, she served on the R.C.I.A. committee, the church funeral dinners committee and belonged to the Daughters of Isabella.
She enjoyed Detroit Tiger baseball, sewing for others, caring for her plants, her granddaughter, grandson-in-law and great grandchildren and was kind to all.
Survivors include a son, James (Renee Janquart) Miller of Menominee; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, all of Jackson, Mi.; nieces; nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1975; her brothers and sisters and a daughter-in-law, Deborah in 2009.
Friends called at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
