Otto "Butch" E. Risner, Jr., 94, of Pound, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017 at Rennes Health Care Center-East in Peshtigo, surrounded by family.
Born Aug. 17, 1923 in Pound, to the late Otto E. and Ella (Garbrect) Risner, Sr., he married Rosemary Augustine on Sept. 9, 1944 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Coleman. They farmed in their earlier years and then began logging and operating a saw mill for many years. They also ran Equity Park for 11 years until moving to Texas where he was maintenance man for Corpus Christi Golf Club for 20 years.
They returned to Pound to enjoy their retirement with their family. They are members of St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver.
Surviving are his wife Rosemary, 10 children, Shirley (Fred) Kinziger, Dan (Jaci) Risner, Rosie (Jeff) Nowak, Otto, III (Shirlee) Risner, Phillip (Brenda Kiraly) Risner, Vernon (Colleen) Risner, Gloria (Tom) Kuchta, Paul (Ann) Risner, Alice (Todd) Polzin and Diane (Jim Jandt) Risner; 32 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Risner; two sisters and four brothers.
The family greeted relatives and friends at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church on State Hwy. 64 in the Town of Beaver on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. Pastor Christopher Johns officiated with burial in St. Mathew's Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Pound. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. A memorial fund was established.
