Jeanne Marie (Murphy) White, 74, of De Pere, passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2017.
Born Oct. 20, 1942 in Oconto Falls, to the late Wencel and Sylvia (Thomson) Murphy, she attended St. Anthony Catholic School, Lena High School and graduated from UW-Oshkosh.
A Guidance Counselor at De Pere High School for 25 years, her focus was to make sure each student was set for success after their high school education.
Known for her quick wit and sense of humor, she was a real estate broker and loved "closing the deal". She owned and managed the Wencel Murphy Mobil Home Court, for many years in Oconto Falls after purchasing it from her parents and until retiring when she moved to Shawano.
She enjoyed cutting the grass on her John Deere riding tractor, a good burger and a cold beer at area taverns, quickly making friends, was a very generous person to those in need, traveled the world with her favorite places being in the United States of Hawaii, Texas or California. Her favorite place to go annually was the Kentucky Derby.
She is survived by two sons, Jim (Laura) Van Hefty and Pat (Heather) Van Hefty; eight grandchildren and four siblings, Patricia (Skip) Pray, Jim Murphy, Allan (Kathy) Murphy and Marilyn (Mike) Wieber.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a baby brother, Howard.
Friends may call at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls on Friday Sept. 29 from 10:30 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Fr. Joel Sember will officiate followed by inurnment in the Parish Cemetery Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jeanne M. White Scholarship Fund at De Pere High School, 1700 Chicago Street, De Pere, WI 54115.
