Gary E. Paust 71, of Bronson, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at his home.
Born July 30, 1946 in Chicago, the last of six children, to Earle and Evelyn (Makovsky) Paust, he graduated from Crivitz High School in 1964 and then attended Spencerian College in Milwaukee for business management. He worked at Paust Woods Lake Resort in Crivitz, Coca Cola and Double Cola in Nebraska, Thunder Mountain Ranch in Wisconsin, King Farms in Burr Oak and North Central Co-op in Coldwater. On June 7, 1971, he married Jenelle Cherry in Norfolk, Ne. and they had three children.
He enjoyed hunting, bonfires, telling tales, fishing, camping , traveling, pontooning, gardening and antiquing, but mostly time with family. He was funny, quirky, stubborn, opinionated and loving.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jenelle of Bronson; three children, Bradley (Sharon Doom) Paust of Bronson, Amanda (Thomas Coyne) Paust of Washington, D.C. and Matthew (Pauline Hand) Paust of Adrian; two grandchildren; four siblings, Carol (Preston) Kahn of Elmhurst, Ill., Cleo Shaw of Oveido, Fla., Byron "Dewey" (Christa) Paust of Lincoln, Ne. and Dale (Judy) Paust of Crivitz; a sister-in-law, Carol Paust of Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Paust and a nephew, Tim Paust.
A Memorial Gathering was held for family and friends at Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Service in Union City on Monday Sept. 25 from 4 p.m. until time of a Celebration of Life Service at 6 p.m., followed by a reception. Memorials can be made to the family.
