Larry D. Schoen, 70, of Peshtigo, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 in Peshtigo.
Born Nov. 6, 1946 in Oconto, to the late Joseph and Bernice (Calahmer) Schoen, he worked as a Mechanic and Auto Body Technician his entire career. He met his future wife, the former Virginia Cowie while working as a welder at Ladish in Milwaukee and they married on Dec. 3, 1966.
An avid fisherman, he loved his fishing trips with the guys in Minnesota and Canada and enjoyed camping with family, taking drives and trips to Texas to visit his brothers. He was an expert in mechanical and auto body work and restored many cars both recreationally and professionally. He loved people, had many friendships and professional relationships and was the guy people loved to visit with.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; four children, Larry (Sandra) Schoen, Cyndi (Jim) Courtney, Andy (Dawn) Schoen and Pat (Kathy) Schoen; a sister-in-law, Ann Schoen; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Rex Schoen.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Church, 171 S. Wood Ave., Peshtigo on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Interment will be private. Newcomer Cremations Funerals and Receptions of Green Bay is assisting the family with arrangements.
