Joel J. Settersten, 83, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, on his mother's birthday.
He met his wife, Rosalie, at the ice rink and they enjoyed skating duets for many years in the M&M Figure Skating Club. He served two years in the United States Army.
He worked at Scott Paper Company (Kimberly Clark) for 37-1/2 years. A lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, he also belonged to the American Legion.
He enjoyed cross-country motorcycling, boating, sailing, kayaking and anything involving family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosalie; four daughters, Deborah (Arthur) Babcock, Pamela (John) Linstad, Kolleen (Randy) Pecard and Amy (Andrew) Linstad; a son, Craig (Laurie) Settersten; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gary (Patricia) Settersten, Tyrone (Amber) Settersten and Richard (Diann) Settersten; a sister, Juanita (William) McCormick and a brother-in-law, Ronald Fischer.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Fischer and a brother, Bradley Settersten.
Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. until time of a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements.
