Carole (Toutloff) Rydell, 88, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 at Rennes Health Care Center-East in Peshtigo.
Born Nov. 22, 1928 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Wilbur (Bill) and Wilma (Sis) Toutloff, she married Ted Rydell in 1945 and lived at their family farm in Pound with their three children.
An avid reader, she also enjoyed listening to music, playing the organ, gardening, crocheting, sewing, painting, jewelry design and home decorating. She was creative with her home reflecting her unique style. She landscaped the family's "Triple R Ranch" at the end of the road into a picture-perfect farm scene.
At her business, "The Hilltop" store and market, she sold organic produce, ice cream, candy and gifts to resort customers near White Potato Lake and also sold homes at her good friends, Gust and Esther Mursau's business in Coleman. She was a loving, generous person and friend to many.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Rydell, Sr.; two sons, Ted, Jr. (Linda), Bill (Wendy); a daughter, Laurie Techmeier (Stan); six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Engel and Pat Nielsen and many close friends through the years.
A memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
