Roy Henry Beaber, 96, of Marinette formerly of Coleman, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017.
Born April 23, 1921 in Pound, to William and Ida (Grosse) Beaber, he married Cecelia Jashinsky on Oct. 3, 1942. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was wounded on the Island of Luzon while fighting in the Pacific. He received the Purple Heart.
After service, he settled and farmed in the Town of Brazeau for many years until moving to Shawano where he started Beaber and Son Construction. He loved to fish and hunt, which he did into his 80's.
He is survived by a son, Ernie (Audrey) Beaber; two daughters, Joyce (Jay) Wolf and Karen Beaber; a brother, Allan Smith; a daughter-in-law, Lorrell Beaber; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia; a son, James; two brothers, Alvin and Roger and a grandson, Jeremy.
Family greeted relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Coleman on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Tim Hawthorne officiated followed by Military Honors by the Coleman American Legion. Burial was in First Baptist Cemetery in Pound.
