Harold Dean Anderson, 82, recently of Peshtigo, passed away November 1, 2017.
Born in Creston, Iowa March 20, 1935, son of the late Wilber and Evelyn (Smith) Anderson, he graduated from Pacific Junction Iowa High School in 1952. He served in the U. S. Navy as a pipe fitter during the Korean Conflict. On January 22, 1954, he married the love of his life, Barbara Radford.
Dean and Barbara started their own camera store business in 1974 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Anderson Camera Center, with a photo processing lab, was the first one hour photo processor in Council Bluffs. They continued in their business for over 20 years with the help of family and many wonderful people. Dean felt that printing pictures was sharing and keeping memories for years into the future.
He was active in many organizations, such as, Shriner's, Free Mason, Rotary, Kiwanis and Chamber of Commerce. Upon retirement, he enjoyed using his woodworking skills to make furniture and other items. Dean and Barbara moved to Peshtigo, WI in 2016 to live near family.
He is survived by, his wife Barbara; four children and grandchildren, Alan Anderson with the wife, Karen and daughter, Karen E., Alice Washburn with daughter, Hannah and son, Jacob, Aaron Anderson with Beth Beaty with daughter Veronica and Amy Hammer with husband, David and sons, Danny and Steven.
Services will be held Saturday, December 2, at 11:00 am at the Masonic Lodge in Council Bluff, Iowa.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful health care providers that assisted him getting the most out of life. There are too many to list all, but they include Dr. Salem and staff, Rennes West Staff and the Out Patient Surgical Staff at BAMC.
