Joseph R. Pairon, 79, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at the Luther Home.
Born Nov. 19, 1938 in Daggett, to the late Joseph and Sarah (Parrette) Pairon, he attended Menominee High School and served in the United States Army. On Dec. 9, 1961, he married Shelby Motto in Menominee.
A member of Menominee Sportsman Club and North American Fur Association, he was an avid outdoorsman and loved trapping, hunting, fishing, cutting wood and watching Maroon football and basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shelby of Menominee; two daughters, Michell (Brian) Beardsley of Menominee and Christina (Frog Swiatnicki) Schreiner of Marinette; two brothers, Mike (Eileen) Pairon and Jim Dessart; two sisters, Mary (Neil) Beaudo and Barb (Larry) Moberg all of Menominee; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Lawrence Dessart and a brother, William "Butch" Pairon.
Visitation was held at Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 2 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 7 p.m. Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
