Donald C. Hotzel
Donald Chester Hotzel, 94, of Brookfield, formerly of Crivitz, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018.
Born July 12, 1923, to Charles and Fern Hotzel, he was raised in Crivitz and was called "Chet" all his life. He had fond memories of growing up on the farm in Crivitz and graduated from Crivitz High School where he played the Piccolo in the band. He served in the United States Army Signal Core in World War II and also played the Piccolo in the Army Band.
He visited his older sister Dorothy Hotzel and helped with chores around her home in Crivitz until her passing in May of 2013.
A carpenter and general contractor most of his life, his last job before retiring was as the Town of Brookfield Building Inspector.
Surviving are three children, Charlene, Nathan and Rachel; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death, along with a sister Dorothy.
Visitation will be held at the Oconomowoc Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 38230 Valley Road, Oconomowoc on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 3:30 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 4:30 p.m.
