THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Christine R. Brabant

Born March 24, 1955, to Ray and Ilene (White) Calewarts, she was raised for many years in County Line at the County Line Dance Hall. On Feb. 12, 1972 she married Terry Brabant in Menominee, Mi. and they had four children.
She was a stay at home mom but also waitressed at many restaurants around Oconto, including The Snack Shack and the Chez Doulet. After her children were older, she worked at R.L. Hall Land and Title Company, but most of her recent time was spent enjoying her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, family gatherings, but most of all, anything involving her grandsons. Many knew her as "Ma", "Momma Chris", "Chrissy" or "Grandma" and the door to her kitchen was open to all.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 46 years, Terry; a son, Jesse (Ashley); three daughters, Michelle (Jesse) Grauvogl, Crystal (Ryan) and Amy; three grandsons; a brother, Dean Calewarts; a sister, Judy Wallenfang and three other siblings; her in-laws, Nancy Mayotte, Jim (Cindy) Brabant, Connie (Rueben) Boevers, Jeff (Kandy) Brabant, Cindy (Bob) Boehm and Jerry Brabant; many special nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, PeeWee and Gloria Brabant; a daughter-in-law, Megan (Stellmacher) Brabant and a brother-in-law, Larry Mayotte.
Family received relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home in Oconto on Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continued at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bob Karuhn officiating.
