
Glenn J. MagninIssue Date: January 31, 2018 Glenn Joseph Magnin, 74, of Lena, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.
He was born to the late John and Christine (Boes) Magnin on May 3, 1943. Glenn graduated from Lena High School, Class of 1961. Following high school he joined the United States Navy and after returning from service he assisted on the family farm in Lena.
Glenn later held employment in the machining and drafting industries. Glenn married the love of his life, Carol (Coshenet) on September 18, 1965 and started a family. It was at this time he began erecting metal buildings. This would evolve to be his lifetime occupation as he entered into business with partners and formed Ourown Construction Corp.
He proudly served his customers for 46 years, building lifelong friendships along the way, and leaving a strong company that continues on.
Glenn enjoyed many hobbies and talents including: woodworking projects, cutting wood, baking bread, hunting, golfing, snowmobiling and most of all, spending time at the cabin with family and friends.
He was known to many as the inventor, with his creative abilities shining through in all he did. Glenn found time to be very active in the local community. He was involved in St. Anne's Parish, Lena Lions Club, Oconto Falls Sno Jokers Club, American Legion, Allis-Chalmers tractor club and many other boards and organizations throughout the years.
Glenn was never a man of many words, but his actions spoke volumes. He had a strong Christian faith, heartfelt love of his family and a desire to serve and be there for others at all times.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years, Carol; three children, Lynette (Paul) Donart, Duane (Danna) Magnin and Scott (Angela) Magnin; nine grandchildren, Annalise, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, and Daniel Donart, Ally and Emmie Magnin and Mya, Macy and Bryent Magnin; a sister, Ann Normyle-Buss; two brothers, Dean Magnin and Hugh (Sharon) Magnin and many nieces; nephews; relatives and special friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his brother, Casimir "Casey" Magnin and a sister, Janet Ehlinger.
Visitation will be held from 9am " 12pm at St. Anne Catholic Church in Lena on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018. The Mass will follow at 12 noon with Father Nonito Barra officiating.
