Daniel Osmon, Sr.
Daniel "Dan" Osmon Sr., 68, of Oconto, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018.
Born March 2, 1949 in Oconto Falls, to Theodore and Joyce (Bourgeois) Osmon, he joined the United States Army in 1969 and was a medic in Vietnam from 1969-1971. He later joined the Army Reserves until 1987 and served with the 890th Transportation unit.
He worked at various places, including, Cruisers, Oneida Casino and Bond Pickle, before retiring in 2011. He enjoyed watching the Packers, playing cards and cribbage, fishing, singing karaoke and playing guitar and harmonica.
He is survived by five children and a daughter-in-law, Joshua (Holly) Gildemeister, Audra Osmon, Sara Osmon, Daniel Osmon Jr. and Alfred (fiancé, Megan Ruleford) Osmon; 11 grandchildren; six siblings, Theodore (Judy), John (Sherry), Nancy Arndt, Nora Kallies, Laura (Rick) Krueger and Judy (Charlie) Otradovec; the love of his life, Margaret Osmon; an "adopted" son, Jeff (Liza) Sot and their daughter; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gina Viann Osmon and a grandson, Collin Osmon.
Friends called at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Oconto on Sunday, Jan. 28 from 1 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 4 p.m. Rev. Nicholas Johannas officiated followed by Veterans Honors. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto.
