Dorothy Louise (Bailey) Ferguson, 82, of Coleman, passed away Tuesday. Jan. 30, 2018 at an area nursing home after a short battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 7, 1935 on the family farm in Bonesteel, S.D., she was the fourth of 15 children, to Elvin and Tracy (Janousek) Bailey. She married Lyle Ferguson on Dec 23, 1952 and he preceded her in death. They had three children, Elvin, Diane and Julie.
She worked at Patz Corp in Coleman for over 25 years. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, before being diagnosed with dementia in 2006.
She is survived by a son, Elvin; two daughters, Diane (Glen) Bisick and Julie (Bill) Galik; brothers and sisters, Judy (Dale) Nolan, Nola (Elden) Nolan, Eben (Patty) Bailey, Richard (Margaret Ann) Bailey, Ruth (Gary) Lundberg, Gayle (Harriet) Bailey, Earl (Tootie) Bailey, Leah (Roy) Englend, Sherrill Kinzie, Fred (Marilyn) Bailey and Donny (Gay) Bailey; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews and friends.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; two sisters; a brother and a daughter-in-law.
Friends called at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Oconto, on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 2 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 4 p.m., with Deacon Walt Kaszynski officiating. Burial will be in the Spring at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Coleman.
