Elmer "Sam" Germait, Jr., 90, of Athelstane passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, with family by his side.
Born Jan. 5, 1928, to the late Elmer and Hazel (Steivo) Germait in Green Bay, he served with honors in the United States Army and was a legion member of post 66 of Silver Cliff.
He loved being a truck driver and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cards and going to country festivals, but mostly camping with family.
He is survived by seven children, Judy (George) Fuller, Cathy (Mike) Obrien, Lori, Jessica (John), Tammy, Richard (Jean) and Lois (Bob); 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces; nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Gerald Germait; a son, Joseph and four daughters, Margaret, Mary, Joan and Lila.
Family greeted relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz on Monday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., followed by military services at the Athelstane Cemetery.
