Dorothy E. (Waugus) Kitzinger, 88, of Marinette, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 at the Luther Home.
Born April 6, 1929, to the late Gustav and Lillian (Gunderson) Waugus in Marinette, she graduated from Marinette High School in 1947 and worked at Lauerman's Department Store and then Ansul for 20 years, retiring in 1988. On Aug. 9, 1951, she married Francis "Jerry" Kitzinger in Marinette and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2007.
A member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Marinette Woman's Club, she volunteered many hours at NWTC as a tutor and enjoyed bowling, golfing, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by a son, David (Alisa) Kitzinger of Pittsburg, Pa.; two daughters, Karen (Thomas) Loberger of Marinette and Nancy Kitzinger of Kaukauna; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett (Pat) Waugus of Marinette and Donald (Marlene) Waugus of Colgate and special extended family members, Kathi Kitzinger and Stacey Kuffel and her children Hunter, JJ and Kennedy.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jerry, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris (Leonard) Schomer and a brother, Clyde (Glenn) Waugus.
Visitation will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 1 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral services at noon. Rev. James Wendt will officiate with entombment in Forest Home Mausoleum. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
