Walter "Wally" R. Biehl, 76, of Porterfield, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Rennes Health Care Center-East with family by his side.
Born Oct. 5, 1941, to the late Walter and Florence (Vickman) in Marinette, he graduated from Marinette High School in 1960. On June 23, 1962, he married Mary Gruszynski at St. Joseph Church in Walsh.
In 1967, he began working as a fabricator at Ansul and while there, he continued his education and attended NWTC in Green Bay for Tool and Die Making. He worked at Ansul/Tyco for 33 years until retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, traveling, especially out west, boating, water skiing, was an automotive enthusiast and member of Corvettes of The Bay, but family was most important to him. He was a lifelong member of SS. Joseph and Edward Parish.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary; a son, Richard Biehl of Marinette; a daughter, Amy Biehl of DePere; a brother and best friend, John (Sally) Biehl of Porterfield; a sister, Carol Anderson of Mission, Tx.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Patrice (Thomas) Thuemler, Peg (Brian) Johnson and Christina (Mike) Spah; two brothers-in-law, Stan (Paula) and Bill (Polly) Gruszynski and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Stanley and Lorraine Gruszynski; three brothers, Frank, Dennis and Harold and a sister, Evelyn Freele.
Visitation was held at SS. Joseph and Edward Parish in Walsh on Tuesday, March 6 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Fr. Jess Berdol officiated with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
